People have been shipping all sort of things over the years. Some weird, some big, and some things are just outlandish. But, if you like cool little facts, be sure to read on because here is a list of some of The Largest Things Ever Shipped.
Planes, Trains and Automobiles
Back in 2013 when Nissan was offering a promotion on Amazon, they were giving away 3 Nissan Versa Note's. The car was placed in a box IF you won it on amazon and not just any box! If you ever had anything delivered from Amazon you know they have brown boxes, with the word amazon and then their little logo. Well, this was the same box, just 100times bigger! When these 3 cars were being delivered pictures came in all across the US of the winner’s family, friends and even neighbors witnessing the huge boxed delivery.

Did you know that Pack and Send once sent a $300,000 Porche to Dubai?
Cannon Safe
One of the heaviest items known by Amazon that can be shipped for free, is the Cannon Safe CO54 Commander Series Premium 90 Minute Fire Safe, Gloss Champagne. Believe it or not, this is a HUGE gun case with all the bells and whistles, including being fire safe. It’s probably one of the reasons this almost 1 ton safe is so heavy. Actually the safe weighs approximately 1,672 pounds and it’s also $7,999.00 so it’s probably a good idea that Amazon has decided to do free shipping and handling for one of The Largest Things Ever Shipped!
Buildings
One of if not THE largest thing to ever be shipped through the mail was in 1916 and it was a building. In 1916 a younger businessman named William Coltharp wanted to build a new bank on the corner of a street in Utah. Unfortunately the building was not already put together, or else that would be at the top of this list, however, it was sent by bricks. Around 80,000 bricks from Salt Lake Pressed Brick Company were delivered. Each package that was shipped was around 50lbs and 40 crates of those 50lb bricks were shipped one at a time. If you ever wondered why the USPS has a limit on how many items by weight you can send a day, you will now know that it’s all William's fault - USPS made this rule right after he started shipping the bricks via their postal service.
Largest BBQ Pit
This is an item that is on eBay. Not only is it on this list of The Largest Things Ever Shipped because of its size, but because of the price tag too. It seems like a cool item if you own something like an outdoor restaurant, but other than that, if you have $350,000 to spend, one would hope you could figure out a different/better way to spend your money.
Huisman Cranes
Huisman is a huge name when it comes to lifting, drilling and subsea services and products. In March 2014 they decided they would like to start delivering one of the world’s largest cranes. Even though these are not going to be shipped via USPS or UPS, and will be delivered most likely via ship in a container from China, they are still considered for the list of The Largest Things Ever Shipped. The crane itself can list over 10,000MT (metric tons) which in lbs. is 22,046,226.218. If it gives you any comparison in weight, an adult male elephant weighs about 15,000lbs!
