The thrill of the auction is on.  There are hundreds of items up for you to bid on--everything from priceless artwork to antiques.  Often, you're up against some serious competition.  Some people know exactly what they're looking at and exactly what each item is worth; others go in with no idea of what they're buying, just the knowledge that they like it and want to take it home with them.  You never know how deep the pockets of your competitors will be, nor do you know when you'll walk away with an amazing deal.  It's all part of the thrill!

From the moment the auctioneer brings up the first item, you're ready to go.  You know that not everything on the auction block will be something that you want, and you've already looked through the goods to make sure you have a good idea of when the items you want most will come up, but you still want to pay attention--you never know when an item that you missed will show up, or when something you thought out of your price range will go for an amazing price.

Finally, your item comes up.  The bidding is heated, but you have your sights on that item, and you're going to get it!  Before you know it, the gavel bangs down, and... "Sold!"  It's yours!

The auction continues.  There might be several more items that you're interested in along the way.  Perhaps you're looking to furnish a new home, or seeking to purchase the equipment you need for a farm, or increase your art collection.  Auctions can be fascinating places to find things that you never even knew that you needed.  You bid on the items that you want--disappointed when you lose out as the item goes for a higher price than you're willing to pay, but excited when you do win one of the items that you had your eye on.  Before you know it, you have an impressive collection of items.

Then you have to get them home.

If you're not from the Houston area, you may need to look for a company to ship your items home.  You'll want a company that is experienced in packing each item on your list.  Sending fine china, artwork, or sculptures?  You'll want a packing company that is skilled at wrapping each individual item before packing them together, whether they're moving on pallets or in crates (or some of both).  Purchase larger items?  You'll want to know that your packing company will carefully wrap each individual item, taking care with all of the little details on your piece of furniture or equipment.

Many shipping companies will tell you that they know what they're doing, that they'll get you the best deals, or that they can handle your shipment.  On your search, seek out one that has experience with all sorts of different items--especially the kind you're transporting.  You want a  company that has handled auction items before--no matter what kind of items they might be.  What if you're purchased a carousel horse?  A model plane?  An electric chair prototype?  These unusual items are not seen often, and the opportunity to buy them is even more rare--so you want to be sure that your shipping company knows how to handle them.

Once you've found your shipping company, you'll have to wait for your items to reach their final destination.  You can choose a shipping company that provides curbside delivery, or one that will help bring your items inside and unpack them for you.  Choose the option that will work best for you!

At last, your new items are in their intended home.  You can sit back and enjoy them, knowing that you've come home with a great deal on something spectacular--and that it arrived in perfect condition.
