As anyone who's lived in, or visited, Sugar Land will know, it's one of America's greatest suburbs. The Houston suburb is home to numerous activities and events, and the metropolitan area continues to grow. New development will add over 250,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space by 2017. The 91 year-old Charhouse, which for the past decade has been an abandoned space, will become the Aloft Hotel.

Sugar Land is one of the fastest growing cities in Texas, and inasmuch, its real estate market is growing to meet demand. The master planned community is hospitable and surprisingly affordable, with many different areas fitting many different needs to choose from.  

An important place to visit in Sugar Land it the Sugar Land Town Square. It plays host to city hall,  The Marriott, numerous restaurants, retail shopping and has entertainment most weekend nights for free. You can learn to dance, sample international food or watch country music bands.

It  hosts the annual Snow Drop  Foundation fundraiser and has free family movie nights throughout the year.

So, if you're interested in moving to, or relocating within, Sugar Land, Texas here's a few things you should know.

First off, you probably want to decide what can be shipped through mail, what you can toss in your car, what needs to be moved by a professional moving company. You can opt to have just your furniture packed and moved, or you can request packing, moving and unpacking. It is all up to you. 

Be sure to  take an inventory of everything that needs to be moved. Of course you'll remember that grand piano and love-seat, but what about things long forgotten in your attic? Or garage? Now can also be an ideal time for some spring cleaning. A chance to throw away that antique Elvis statue you were convinced you needed, but now realize is just tacky.
