Before we discuss  shipping to Ecuador, lets look at a few interesting facts about Ecuador.

 

The equator runs through Ecuador. Ecuador is actually named for the equatre.

There are three colors in the Ecuadorian flag. Yellow to represent diversity, blue to represent the sky, and the red is the color of blood and stands for those individuals who fought for independence.

There are many active volcanoes in Ecuador. 

August 10 is independence day.

The majority of balsa wood in the world originates in Ecuador.

In 2008 Ecuador declared that nature has constituitonal rights.

Educador does not share a border with Brazil.  It is only one of two countries that does not share this common border.

 

On to the items that are prohibited from being sent into Ecuador

  1. You cannot ship maps into Ecuador that contain boundaries that are incorrect.
  2. Cigarette paper is only allowed with permission from the government.
  3. Mobile telephones.
  4. Panama hats may not be imported into Ecuador. Just a side note here. The Panama hats that workers wore when the Panama Canal was being built, were acutally made in Ecuador.

A few restricted items.

 

Used clothing may be sent from the owner to the owner of the clothing. It can weigh no more than 44 pounds.

Used clothes may be sent in packages weighing no more than 8.9 pounds.
