When you're packing up boxes for international shipping to Bermuda, you want to make sure that all of your goods will pass through customs quickly and smoothly.  In order to ensure the best possible treatment of your packages, you need to follow Bermuda's restrictions for items that are shipped into the country.  Like most countries, this begins with a list of prohibited items--but you'll be pleased to know that Bermuda's "prohibited items" list is one of the least restrictive.  According to the USPS website, the few prohibitions include:

  • Perishable infectious biological substances
  • Perishable noninfectious biological substances
  • Radioactive materials

That's it!  Just three simple things that you need to avoid, and your shipment will be good to go!  Bermuda also has no further restrictions on shipping items into the country--no special permits required for specific items; nothing that they require different forms in order to receive.

Need a little help getting your items ready to ship to Bermuda?  Whether it's making sure that all of the postal forms are filled out correctly or ensuring that your box is packaged properly, if you're shipping out of the Houston area, contact us!  We can help.

Did You Know?  A Few Facts About Bermuda

1.  Roofs in Bermuda are made from Bermuda slate and timber.  Each one is whitewashed, then collects rainwater into tanks stored under each house.  This is a highly efficient way to ensure that each dwelling has its own water supply!  The water does undergo a filtration process to ensure that it is safe for use.

2.  Bermuda has one of the highest concentrations of limestone caves in the world.

3.  Bermuda's pink sand is created by particles of shells that have mixed with pieces of coral and calcium carbonate.  This combination creates some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

4.  The waters off Bermuda are home to more than 650 species of fish.  This rich ecosystem is due in part to the warmth coming off of the Gulf Stream and the safety of the reefs, where predators don't typically appear.

5.  Bermuda consists of 181 coral-covered, lava-based islands.  It has about 155 miles of roads.

6.  It is considered acceptable for residents of Bermuda to wear the aptly named Bermuda shorts with knee socks, a jacket or sports coat, and a tie--even at business functions.

7.  On Good Friday, most people in Bermuda come out to fly very colorful kites.  It's not the only thing to do on the holiday, but most families participate for at least a little while.
