If you regularly package items for international shipment, you already know that each country has its own unique list of items that are prohibited for shipment into the country. International shipping to Kuwait is no different. According to the USPS website, prohibited items for shipping into Kuwait include:
- Butane gas for lighters, or lighters containing butane gas
- Any printed material (including magazines) that contains pictures of nude or partly nude individuals. If it has a PG-13 rating, it's probably best not to try to ship it.
- "Perishable infectious biological substances"
- Radioactive materials
Also, Kuwait has placed several restrictions on items that are shipped into the country. These include:
- Dairy products, preserved meat, drugs, vaccines, and serums require the recipient to be in possession of the proper permits.
- Jewels, precious stones, and metals moved into Kuwait to sell must be approved by the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Kuwait.
- Medications or pills of any kind must be accompanied by a prescription and/or a description of their composition and purpose.
- Tapes and cassettes can't be sent via Registered Mail; they must be sent through standard mail.
- Used clothing that is intended for sale must be accompanied by a certificate of sterilization.
