Before you can settle into your new home, however, you’ll need to do a bit of research and decide how you want to get your belongings from one place to another. There are several different options for how to furniture out of state.
Small Load Moves
If you choose a small load move, your belongings will be placed on a truck that also contains other customers’ belongings. A logical delivery schedule will be created, based on the destinations. For instance, if you are going from Houston to Miami, your truck may also contain loads bound for New Orleans and Orlando. White glove delivery service is included. Small load moves are often cheaper, but may take a bit longer than other methods.
Dedicated Truckload Moving
With dedicated truckload moving, your moving truck will not have anyone else's belongings on it. After the movers finish loading your furniture, they will typically drive directly to the delivery address. This is one of the fastest ways to get your belongings from point A to point B.
Furniture Freighting
With furniture freighting, your belongings are placed on pallets and shipped via freight. As far as delivery, you can choose either inside delivery, or curbside delivery. You can also select the shipping method, such as ground transportation, air, or overnight delivery.
Rental Trucks
While rental trucks may be the cheapest option, they also mean the most work, unless you’re going to hire people to help with loading and unloading. Make sure to do plenty of research before deciding to go the rental truck route. After you’ve figured in gas money, hotel accommodations, you may find that hiring movers isn’t much more expensive, and will save you a lot of work!
Other Options
If you’re traveling light, and only taking a few prized possessions with you, you have some additional options. You can rent a trailer that attaches to your vehicle, or even ship your goods using common carriers.

Of course, no matter which option you choose, you’ll want to go through your things and get rid of anything you no longer want or need. Be sure to pack your belongings carefully, and make a complete inventory.
