Shipping internationally to Iceland is pretty simple. But you will need to do some research. Like all countries, Iceland has prohibited certain items from being sent to their island.

 

The following items are Prohibited from import into Iceland:

  • Bees and silkworms.
  • Valuables payable in Icelandic currency. This includes Icelandic coins and banknotes.
  • Meat products such as sausages.
  • Tobacco products.
  • Toys made from lead.
  • Wireless receivers and their accessories, parts, and/or batteries.

Iceland currently does not have a restriction list from what you can ship to their country.

The following Observations must be made when shipping to Iceland:

In the case of a sales transaction, all merchandise imported by mail must be accompanied by an invoice (and it's duplicate) signed by the seller. If the merchandise is not part of a sales transaction, the invoice must be signed by the mailer.

It is required that the invoice clearly describes the merchandise and lists the selling price of each type of goods being shipped. The addressee is required to present the invoice with other documentation in order to effect customs clearance.

Iceland's climate actually varies according to different parts of the island. southern Iceland, as can be expected, is warmer than the northern side. However, the southern side is also windier and wetter. Annually, the coldest part of Iceland, however, can actually be found on the central highlands.

Despite Iceland's latitude and being so close to the Arctic, Iceland's coast remain ice-free, even in the winter. This is due to the island's position in receiving the warm North Atlantic Current.
