When looking for a company to ship medical equipment internationally, we suggest asking a few basic questions.

Does the company you are contracting with have experience in international shipping?

Has the company that you have chosen for your packing been in operation for many years? When the downtick in the economy hit, some franchises sold locations to new owners, but kept the business in the same location. You do want to make sure that the personnel handling your medical equipment shipping needs have been packing and shipping these purchases for many years.

Ask about your shipping options. Except for time sensitive or small pieces of medical equipment shipping you probably do not need to ship via air. Your contact should ask how often that you will be shipping equipment. It usually is cost effective to ship a larger amount of equipment at one time, rather than shipping several smaller shipments.

Look at cubic meter shipping, a twenty foot container and a forty foot container for ocean shipping.

The company you choose to prepare your equipment for shipping should know how to build custom international crates when needs. They need to know how to fill out international commercial invoices and other customs forms as needed. They also will need to know the sensitive packing needs for medical equipment and know how to build custom pallet for international shipping.
