International shipping to Serbia is actually surprisingly straight forward. The United States Postal Service offers the following guidelines when sending items to Serbia:
- Postal items shipped to individuals in Serbian can contain items intended for personal use, or the personal use of family members. This includes household items as well, as long as they are not intended for resale. Resale items must be imported through Customs where duties and other fees will be applied.
- Shipping that results in business conducted between Serbia and the United States can be freely imported.
- Items addressed to individuals in Serbia are exempted from Customs duties if the items do not exceed $30 USD. This value restriction does not apply if the items are being sent to an individual who is entitled to special rules or conditions with respect to their professional circumstance.
- Serbian citizens exercising a profession are allowed to import items necessary to serve in their professional capacity. This includes specialized equipment, materials, spare parts, etc. These important may be subject to special conditions with regard to their import. The sender is required to declare this privilege on the Customs declaration.
