Settling the estate of a family member can create a lot of work, as you deal with the distribution of his or her possessions. Common items left to heirs after a loved one has passed away include large dining room sets.  Shipping a formal dining room (which often includes not just the table and chairs, but also a china cabinet, antiques, and even a chandelier) can be made easier by working with a company you trust. They will ensure that all items will be packed securely and shipped safely to your destination.

Here are some hints for preparing dining room items for shipping.

To pack a large china cabinet, be sure to secure the doors and drawers with shrink-wrap, and use padding for glass or mirrored parts. If you're also shipping china, crystal, or stemware, you'll want to protect them with separate packaging.

Protect antiques and collectibles you can either have them them blanket wrapped using a traditional moving service or avail yourself of freight shipping  and have them  packed in custom-made crates lined with Styrofoam. You can also choose to send smaller antique items via DHL, UPS or FedEx.

When you want to safely pack and ship a chandelier, use a custom box or crate with a crossbeam for hanging it.

Carefully wrap it with bubble wrap if needed. Remember to block and brace it for moving or shipping. Lining the box or crate with one inch Styrofoam is usually recommended.
